Magic of Nature Tour

Explore the Indian River Lagoon and Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) while on a guided tour in your choice of a  kayak or paddleboard where you will discover the magic of nature during the morning hours.

Our tour will guide you away from the busy river into the calmer backwaters among the mangroves where you will paddle along channels and into the bay area. During this time, you will learn a little history about the ICW, the ecology of the Indian River Lagoon and its inhabitants, and experience the natural wonders of nature. During your guided tour, you may see a vast array of wildlife that is native to the area, such as dolphins, manatees, osprey, egrets, and great blue herons, just to name a few.

This tour is great for any level of paddler and is great for the entire family to enjoy. We ask that you are a confident swimmer, comfortable in the water, must be fully mobile and in good physical condition to join this tour.

This morning tour is approximately 1.5 hours and departs from our base site at 9 a.m. Please be at the tour departure site at least 15 minutes before the tour start time.

Magic of Bioluminescence tour

Discover the magic of bioluminescence on this sunset bioluminescence tour. Watch the water light up as luminous sea life surrounds your kayak or paddleboard as you paddle around the warm waters of the Indian River Lagoon right after watching the sunset.

Tours generally depart 15-20 minutes before sunset. Check with us for tour dates and times as the moonlight effects the intensity of the bioluminescent glow.

NOTICE: Due to limited bioluminescence in the lagoon, we are not booking this tour at this time. Please consider our Magic of Nature morning tour or our Sunset Tour instead.

Sunset Tour

Experience the breathtaking beauty of our sunset river kayak tour, where you will have the opportunity to witness the graceful presence of manatees, playful dolphins, and a variety of vibrant birds. Immerse yourself in the serenity of the Indian River Lagoon as the sky transforms into a mesmerizing palette of colors.

This tour is great for any level of paddler and is great for couples or the entire family to enjoy. This early evening tour is approximately 1 hour long and departs from our base site at just before sunset. Please be at the tour departure site at least 15 minutes before the tour start time so you don’t miss out on the sunset.

meet your guide

Hello, adventurers! My name is Ursula, and I am thrilled to be your guide through the enchanting waters of Mosquito Lagoon. As a proud 5th generation resident of Oak Hill, Florida, the lagoon is not just a place I explore; it’s my home. My roots run deep in these waters, and my journey here has shaped me into a devoted Florida Coastal Systems Naturalist. My love for Mosquito Lagoon goes beyond its scenic beauty. It’s about the connection to the land and the myriad of life it supports. As your guide, I aim to offer more than just a tour; I strive to provide a gateway to understanding the delicate balance of our coastal systems and the importance of preserving them for generations to come.
