A New Chapter Is Coming To RiverWitch Kayak!
RiverWitch Kayak Rentals & Tours is temporarily closing beginning August 27th as we move, renovate, and prepare for an exciting new launch site!
With the sale of Bissit Bay Fish Camp, we’re relocating our RiverWitch concession stand and creating a new home for our kayak rentals, paddle boards, fishing kayaks, and guided eco tours.
And we’re especially excited about the new launch area.
Our new site will provide direct access to a beautiful and biodiverse mangrove marsh, bringing you even closer to the wild, natural side of Mosquito Lagoon. We’re taking this time to improve the property, create a nicer launch area, move our Tiki Booth, and get everything ready to welcome you back.
We’re hoping to have everything completed and RiverWitch Kayak back in business by October 1st, but we want to make sure we do it right. We’ll announce the exact reopening date as soon as it’s confirmed.
This temporary closure is giving us the opportunity to create an even better experience for our guests. When we reopen, you’ll have a beautiful new launch point and another incredible way to explore the unique mangrove habitat and wildlife of Mosquito Lagoon.
So while our paddles may be parked for a little while, RiverWitch Kayak is far from standing still! 🌿

41st International Coastal Cleanup
RiverWitch Kayak Rentals & Tours is proud to once again participate in Volusia County’s International Coastal Cleanup!
On September 19, Volusia County will join the Ocean Conservancy’s 41st International Coastal Cleanup, bringing volunteers together to remove marine debris from beaches, rivers and waterways throughout the county. The countywide event runs from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
This year, RiverWitch will serve as a private host site for kayakers who want to participate in the cleanup on the water.
Free Kayak Rentals for Cleanup Participants
Registered participants joining us at RiverWitch can use a kayak at no charge from 9:00 AM until noon on Saturday, September 19th.
We’ll provide everything you need:
* Kayak
* Paddle
* Life jacket
* Whistle
* Gloves
* Buckets
* Trash bags
* Grabbers
* Water
If you have your own gloves or grabbers, you’re welcome to bring them.
Important Registration Information
Preregistration is required to reserve a free kayak through RiverWitch.
Volusia County’s overall cleanup registration is handled through the county’s registration system. While Volusia County does not require registration to participate in every cleanup location, participants using the free kayaks at the RiverWitch private host site must preregister with RiverWitch so we know how many kayaks and supplies to have ready.
The first 1,000 preregistered countywide participants will also receive a promotional item featuring the 2026 International Coastal Cleanup logo, designed by the Ocean Conservancy.
