meet your guides

Hello, adventurers! My name is Ursula. I'm a Certified Florida Naturalist and local native and I'm thrilled to be your guide as we paddle through the enchanting waters of Mosquito Lagoon, a sub-basin of the Indian River Lagoon System. As a proud 5th generation resident of Oak Hill, Florida, the lagoon is not just a place I explore; it’s my home. My roots run deep in these waters, and my journey here has shaped me into a devoted Florida coastal systems naturalist. My love for Mosquito Lagoon goes beyond its scenic beauty. It’s about the connection to the land and water and the myriad of life it supports. As your guide, I aim to offer more than just a tour; I strive to provide a gateway to understanding the delicate balance of our coastal systems and the importance of preserving it for generations to come.

Meet Artie! With a bachelor’s degree in biology from Rollins College, multiple SCUBA certifications, and credentials as a certified Florida coastal naturalist, I'm deeply committed to the field of eco-tourism and conservation. My professional background includes experience as an aquarist at the California Science Center, where I've gained extensive experience in marine life care and public education. Additionally, my experience as a project manager in the marine construction field has provided me with the skills to efficiently lead and organize eco-friendly travel experiences. My diverse expertise and passion for marine conservation enable me to offer unique, sustainable, and educational eco-tourism adventures that promote environmental stewardship and appreciation for our natural world. When I'm is not on the water, I'm passionately raising my three sons with my beautiful wife.
