Rules & Regulations
As a watersport rental company, RiverWitch Kayak Rentals & Tours must remain compliant with Florida State laws and regulations. RiverWitch Kayak Rentals & Tours is required to obtain waivers, provide all participants with pre-ride instruction and FWC’s attestation form. Expect the highest standards when booking with us. Your compliance with the law is essential for a safe experience. Participants on paddle boards or kayaks must adhere to these requirements.
Please support RiverWitch Kayak Rentals & Tours in preserving the lagoon, its surroundings, and local wildlife by adhering to the following rules and regulations. Failure to adhere to these rules and regulations may result in you being removed from the tour and the property with no refund.
- Alcoholic beverages and illegal narcotics are not allowed on site. Coolers, bags and dry compartments may be inspected before launching.
- Children under the age of 12 must be paired with an adult at all times. They are not permitted to pilot vessels on their own.
- No speakers, or radios of any kind is allowed on tours. Everyone must be able to hear and comply with any instruction provided by your tour guide at all times.
- Leave no trace. Take all trash and any trash you may find along the way back with you and dispose of properly. Please help us keep the lagoon clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
- Please respect the environment, wildlife, other paddlers, and the staff during your visit. Rude or obnoxious behavior, foul or abusive language, fighting or any other behavior that may be offensive or a nuisance will result in immediate removal from the tour and/or property without refund.
- Swim at your own risk (we’ve seen sharks and alligators). Water shoes are recommended to reduce injury such as cuts from oysters.
- Take as many pictures and videos as you want, but please do not feed or touch the wildlife. In many cases this is illegal and can result in heavy fines and/or imprisonment.
- Do not land on any private property, docks, or yards.
- RWK is located on the west side of Canaveral National Seashore, a protected National Park. If you decide to disembark on any of the islands, please abide by their rules and regulations.
- No motorized vessels of any type allowed. Modification of any rental equipment is strictly prohibited and will result in fees being assessed.
- Returning to initial launch site 4 hours later than your scheduled return time will result in the local authorities to be contacted. You are solely responsible for any fines imposed by the local authorities. If you become lost and have to be extracted by the local authorities, they will not extract your rental equipment which will result in additional fees for recovery and/or replacement.
- No pets allowed on tours.
- One personal flotation device (PFD) and one whistle per person is required. PFDs and whistles are provided. Failure to return your PFD or any rental equipment (other than the whistle which is yours to keep) will result in fees being assessed.
